The following are some of our most frequently asked questions:1. How far in advance do I need to book?
Flint House works with new clients as soon as there is a spot in our schedule. We take on a limited number of new clients per month to ensure that each project gets the attention it deserves, so we often find clients booking our services a few months in advance. If you would like to hold a spot in our schedule, we require a 25% deposit.
2. Do you offer payment plans?
Our typical payment plan is 25% down at the signing of contract, 25% when the project begins, and the remaining 50% due at project completion. If there are any clients who sign a contract and work with us right away, it's 50% down with the remaining 50% due at project completion. You will receive all of your final files once the final payment is received. On a case-by-case basis, a payment plan may be negotiated.
3. What programs and platforms do you work with?
We design all of our clients' branding visuals using the Adobe Creative Suite, and we code our clients' websites on Squarespace. Flint House is a Squarespace Circle member, and all of our clients receive a complimentary 20% off their first year of hosting fees. Squarespace's pricing plans can be viewed here. Note: we require all clients to purchase the "Business" plan (or an e-commerce plan, if needed) to allow for custom CSS integration.4. Why do you use Squarespace?Squarespace’s backend editor is simple, clean, and user friendly — making it easy for clients to make simple updates to their sites as needed once our project is done. Where other website platforms tend to go overboard with backend options, Squarespace keeps it simple. However, if you need additional updates made to your website down the road, we are always happy to help at our hourly rate ($50/hour). 5. Do you write website copy? No, we do not write website copy, nor provide any visuals for your website. All content you'd like displayed on your site is due at the start of the project. If you are needing website icon illustrations or stock photography curation, we do offer that for an additional fee. If this is something you're needing for your website, please let us know so we can give you an accurate quote.6. I'm on a tight budget. Can you still help me?Professional branding and web design is an investment — while it may seem like a lot of money upfront, it pales in comparison to the value that a professional website or brand identity can add to your business. Our rates have been carefully calculated based on experience, quality of work, and the time needed to complete certain projects. If it helps, we are happy to discuss alternative payment options or split up packages to make the investment a little more tangible.
